Awww... Rawr!

These two snuggle bugs are a couple more of our cats. Tai-grr is the brown + black tabby. Aurora is the dilute calico. The two of them are 11 years old and have a bit of a love-hate thing. Just a moment after the shot was taken a wrestling match ensued. Those are cats, after all. ;)

Tea For Two

Attack of hay fever leads to brewing echinacea-eucalyptus tea for sipping during this evening's viewing of The Tudors.

This cupboard is one of my favorite places in our kitchen for it is the dwelling place of our coffee and its related goodies. We also have a shelf full of teas, sugars, and real flavored syrups elsewhere in the kitchen.

More Fry?

These eggs keep showing up in our big tank but we haven't figured out for sure what they are. We are pretty sure they are snails. If they are being eaten before hatching or just thriving in the big tank, that is fine with me. There will be no more transfers for now though. The nursery is full!

Roofus

In 29 days my Roofus will have his 18th birthday. Everyone agrees he is holding up very well for his years and I know he is really starting to slow down so every moment with him is a treasure. He spends lots more time curled up in bed and PetCo had a sale on kennel pads so I bought a couple. Looking like a wise buy!

Growing Up!

This little one and its siblings are still so tiny, smaller than the pieces of gravel. They are finding it harder to hide though. Today we've got positive visual identification of ten fry. We have one of the breeder nets and hopefully will have the water high enough to put them in there soon. We can't really clean the water in the usual manner and not all the filters are running so the water is slowly going toxic.

It's Trying!

The green is making a valiant effort to fight its way out from the spring snow storms we're getting. Nature just can't quite make up its mind!

Tonight It Is All Mine

Two days in a row of wearing shoes with poor padding has left the body aching like mad. LUSH bath to the rescue! If memory serves correct, the two chunks are Aura Suavis bubble bath bars. Not shown: Vanilla Pear tea and a DragonLance novel. There are few things in life better than all these!

Dragon Breath!

The man and I watched Rein of Fire. We saw it before a long time ago but in our home just about any film with dragons is worthy of repeats!

Beth was elated when she discovered the pockets in this apron. Finally a place for everything and everything in it's place! What a wonderful night it was- girlfriends, music, conversation & a little wine. =) <3

What an exciting evening! Before dinner we noticed some tails poking out of eggs. After I got the girl to bed the man and I did some observation time and the little dudes started busting out like mad! We are just hoping the best for the babies. We have never been fish parents before!

My husband and I often have different morning schedules but both *need* the brew, so there's two pots side by side in our kitchen. Each set to auto-magically have the coffee ready and waiting when he or she needs it.

Thud!

This morning I curled up on the love seat after giving all the little mouths their breakfasts. A few moments after I laid down I felt a warm little body on my feet. I looked over. Then had an internal THUD! It was Wooter! I ended up falling asleep and she was still there, two hours later! For me & Wooter the cuddly moments are few & far between so this really made my day =) I hope she keeps it up.

Limey Water

Practically the only thing I consumed all day. My girl and man seem to have caught a tummy bug. Looks like she's finished with it but he started today and all day I've been tired and no appetite. If we're all going to be sick at least let it be while I'm on break.

Good Thing It Wasn't A Bar Tab...
Today Marshmallow girl and I went to the public library for the first time since June. Guess how many books are living with us temporarily? Eleven. Yes, eleven. She chose six, I got five. My choices were focused on kids and cats. Hers was more of a mixed bag, but most of them have animals in them in one way or another. It was nice to get back to the library again. Taking M there is a bit of an adventure, she wants to take every book she sees home with her! I discuss options with her before leaving in hopes there will be a shred of order to the event but it always seems to end up that we aren't going over to the electronic card catalog and looking up a topic to choose books from. She wants to go straight into the shelves and pick out the pretty ones that are featured on the display racks, or random ones that are facing out deep inside the shelves. Now, I don't mind that so much, the variety is a good thing for both of us. It's just a little difficult to wrangle in my little Bibliophile when she's in the heat of the chase! It makes me smile though, her talent for words is amazing to me!

I Fought The Door And The Door Won
Before we left for the library, I had to run back into the house from the garage because I forgot my cell phone. So I dashed back inside and grabbed my phone and on my way back out my left middle finger tip got smashed in the door. I bit my lips together, held back the strings of cursing and got into the drivers seat and cried a little. After I regained control, M snapped out some remark about me taking up her library time. She thought I was faking it. I lost it. I feel bad about doing so, especially since the car seats probably blocked her view of the performance at the door. The pain was still very fresh and I yelled at her about how no, I really DID slam my finger in the door and it really DID hurt and she wouldn't like it if HER finger got slammed in a door and look, here's my swollen colorful finger to prove it. Then she started crying too.  So there we were, a couple bawling girls in the back seat of a car in the driveway. We had some cuddle time and I apologized for yelling and tried to explain how when people hurt really bad they don't always make good decisions. Half an hour after the garage door first opened we were on our way for some library love! Things went fine for most of the rest of the afternoon, but then I was with M in her room and playing pretend with her. We were on the floor and her knee decided my puffy finger would make a nice stepping cushion. The thing had just stopped throbbing a little while before that too. *sigh*

Rebel Milestone
Another noteworthy event happened today. The CF card in my Rebel finally filled up! All this time I've kept the old images on the card after copying to my hard drive. Don't ask why, that's just how it's happened. Ten weeks of photo fun. I'm sure if we were still in the Honolulu area it wouldn't have lasted half as long. Hello, Flickr Fridays anyone? ;) Speaking of, I hope to be able to add more photos to my stream soon.

My finger is giving me 'The Finger' so I better go.
