The Best Is Yet To Come

We had Mass, lunch with some of the family, then a trip to the Zoo. The weather was wonderful. It was cool and partly cloudy then as we were leaving the big clouds rolled in. All of my pictures from this day are on my Rebel. Stay tuned to my photo stream for those & from DMNS yesterday. The evening was filled with dinner at my Aunt's house followed by birthday cake and presents for one of her dear friends. The drive home left us white-knuckled. Drizzle then snow including near white-out ending with a steady shower. I feel as though I'm complaining but truly, am going to sleep tonight happy and full and exhausted!

Classmates Like Him

Occasionally students will bring their animal friends from home to aid with the more hands-on classes. Sometimes the friends get to tag along for the rest of the school day. Crockett, here, had one of those days and it really made my day! =)

Enjoy It When You Can

It was rainy and grey most of the day but cleared up for an hour or so which made for a nice sunny study session and lunch.

For The Price Of A Fancy Coffee1

Went out hunting for a rain jacket.
DH & mine are MIA in moving boxes. At Burlington, there was something slightly wrong with all the ones I liked. Made a quick stop in at the Mall & right before needing to leave to get my girl from school the salesladies at Old Navy helped me find this. Good thing too, it started raining on the way to the school then by the time we got home it was hailing!

Bullseye For Birds

This goose somehow decided outside of Target would be a good place for her nest. There was a man sitting on the bench who told us all about it. She arrived a couple days ago so the employees are setting out bowls of bread and water for her. I thought bread was bad for birds because it expands too rapidly in their gullets? I wanted to get closer for a better shot but our daughter was with us and the husband and I wanted to model respecting wildlife.

Sunny Saucy Daffodils!

Nearly every day we drive past this bunch of Daffodils. For the past week, at least, they've been begging to have their beauty shared! So glad I finally took the time today to stop and smell the flowers. Except the lens did the real smelling =)

Sharing Blessings

Tonight at bedtime M & I were having a Rosary lesson- going over the prayers and Mysteries. It was incredible to hear here 'take off' and tell me all about the decent of the Holy Spirit. What ever her Sunday School teacher said must have really made an impression. Thanks Miss E! M was really impressed with the flames above the Disciples heads and thought the gift of tongues was so cool. Tomorrow (probably at bed time) I'd like to talk about it again and teach her more about the importance of the Spirit. It was awesome to see her excited about the Faith teachings!

The other end of this thing is across the playground. They do seem to work but I don't want to get my mouth too close to the thing :p

A Pinky Nail Long

My pinky nail = 1cm long. The fry (Corydoras paleatus) are out of the breeder net now and happily cruising around in their powder-fine sandy bottom tank. We have a cheese cloth bag of the old gravel in there (to encourage good bacteria growth) and of course the filtration but no plantings yet. Sadly, we've lost some. There's now just eight remaining fry, but that is actually a good thing becuase now we may not have to canvas the local fish stores shilling the fry off. =)

Healthy as Horses...

For Chemistry Lab this quarter the lab sheets are being done as a cumulative patient record. My patient is the handsome horsey on the right. His name is Scout. I'm way out of my 'zone' as far as working with equines go but thinking it could turn out nice.

Dinner

Hardly a foodie compared to many of my friends, but ever so often something worthy of mention comes from my kitchen. Tonight it was the Steak au Poivre, Garlic and Olive Oil Grilled Asparagus, and Brown Rice. I want to try this again sometime. The black pepper got a little too friendly with the steak ;) In all, quite delicious and the daughter even tried the asparagus! So proud of her!

Morning Mellowness

Tai and I shared a little rectangle of light for a 'nap' when the phone rang. Then it was time to go to school.

Little Annie

This pretty little kitty is one of the two kittens who just arrived this quarter. Don't let her sweet face fool you. What she lacks in size she makes up for with an attitude! Good thing her roomate is a mellow jello boy!

Spring Studies

Many future Veterinary Technicians are opting to hit the books outside these days. It is too nice not to! Sunny and 70° F with occasional winds.

Le Chef du Chats

Reminder to self: Check translation grammer.
Some nights I feel like a Julia Child to my cats. On Monday, that might be stepped up a notch. Taigrr has been showing signs of a tummy ache for quite a while and my main suspicion is that he has a food sensitivity. Over the years we've fed several different commercial recipes and the problem persists. He's not an outdoor cat and nobody else shows signs so I don't think it's a parasite. At this point all that is important is him feeling better.

Strange Sky & Psyche

The skies were doing some pretty incredible things today. It was quite windy and the cloud formations could not keep still or make up their mind on their color. The conditions were reminisent of those before a tornado or epic rain storm. There was certainly something in the air though for I also had this odd feeling of neither here nor there, disconnected from life in general. The evening brought with it a pretty decent headache as well.
